Garden Assessments
Not every garden needs redesign. Some simply need a clear, expert assessment before deciding what to do next.
A Garden Assessment is an *on-site, professional evaluation of your existing garden. It identifies what is working well, what may be limiting performance, where risks lie, and how to prioritise investment before moving into design or build stages.
Who This Is For
Moved to a new property and want to understand the garden you are inheriting.
Living with a garden that no longer functions as intended.
Managing an inherited or neglected garden.
Concerned about levels, drainage, ageing hard landscaping, or underperforming planting.
Uncertain whether a redesign is appropriate, an assessment is usually the correct first step.
What the Assessment may include
Consultation
Overall layout and spatial organisation
Levels, drainage and access
Condition and likely lifespan of hard landscaping
Planting performance and long-term suitability
Light, shade, and microclimate influences
Maintenance demand versus actual use
Short, medium and long-term risks
The emphasis is on practical judgement and clarity, not speculative ideas.

In some cases, the assessment fee may be partially offset against later design work as there maybe some commonality with the consultation, site analysis and design brief.
